ISC Muscat's Commitment to Cybercrime Awareness: A Step Towards a Safer Online Community
Cybercrime, the act of using digital platforms to harass, intimidate, or harm individuals, has become a pressing concern in the lives of today's youth.
In an era dominated by technology, the need to address and combat cybercrime has become increasingly crucial. In line with this commitment, The International School of Choueifat – Muscat took a proactive step by hosting a dedicated session on cybercrime awareness on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, in the school's auditorium. Administrators, teachers, and over 500 students attended this event, which was very beneficial and enlightening.
Ms. Salma Al Abri, a senior Public Prosecutor, brought her expertise to the session, providing valuable insights into the legal aspects of cybercrime and the potential consequences for those involved. The session explored various dimensions of cyberbullying, including the different forms it can take, such as online harassment, spreading false information, or the creation of harmful content. Attendees were educated on how to properly identify, stand against, and handle cyberbullying.
As the digital landscape continues to evolve, ISC-Muscat's initiative stands as a testament to its forward-thinking approach to addressing contemporary challenges. By equipping students with the knowledge and tools to combat cyberbullying, the school is not only fulfilling its educational purpose but also actively contributing to the development of responsible citizens.
